The reintroduction of elementary school children with specific learning disabilities to a traditional classroom after distance education: teacher and parent point of view

The Abstract Title: The reintroduction of children with specific learning disabilities to a traditional classroom in primary schools after distance education: teacher and parent point of view Objectives: The main goal of this thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of remote education, focusing particularlyon specialized primary school students diagnosed with a specific learning disability. Methods: Two Google forms were created specifically for the purposes of the thesis analysis. Surveyed schools were selected using an internet search of category for students with special learning needs. Produced questionnaire was targeted at the selected specialized schools' teachers and the legal guardians of their special-needs students. Majority of the used questionnaire consisted of closed-ended questions. Results: The obtained data lead to the conclusion that both teachers and students handled the transition to a distance education, generally taking the form of online learning, appropriately. Most of the surveyed students managed to maintain the same learning skills. Only one fifth of the student respondents admitted to being physically active less than once per week. Children's experience of transition from elementary to practical school

This Bachelor thesis deals with transison of pupils from elemntary to practical school for pupils with special needs. The text is divided into two parts - the theoretical one and the practical one. In the first part are presented theoretical works focus on education and psychology of children with mild mental handicap. The second part is devoted to research which has been conducted at one of the practical primary schools. Materials were obtained due (thanks) to semistructured interviews with five boys and were afterwards analysed with the methods of Grounded theory. This research indicates how the boys perceive their study path before and after crossing to practical primary school and what did this crossing mean to them. Main attention is paid on relationship issues with classmates, teachers and learning.
Financial literacy and its inclusion in the curriculum of practical primary schools

The theoretical part of the diploma work defines intellectual disabilities, as well as the possibilities of counselling and educating of pupils with mental disabilities. Further, the thesis discusses education and re-education of pupils with diagnosed mental retardation. It outlines the inclusion of financial literacy into the curricular documents intended for pupils with a mental disability across educational areas with emphasis on mathematics. The thesis introduces materials and their parameters suitable for the inclusion of financial literacy at practical primary schools. The practical part covers experimental education of individual thematic topics of financial literacy at practical primary schools. The carried out initial diagnostics of pupils at a selected practical primary school focused on percentages, simple interest and a family budget. This diagnostics had a general character, as was also verified. Furthermore, the thesis presents a detailed record from own executed teaching with regard to four monitored pupils, including their casuistry. Development of the reading literacy of children with mild mental disabilities

The theme of this diploma thesis is the development of literacy of pupils with mild intellectual disability. This thesis is divided into 5 parts. The key words such as literacy, reading literacy, pupil with a mild intellectual disability and schooling of pupils with mild intellectual disability, are described in the first four parts. Chapter number five is the empirical part of the thesis. The aim of this thesis is to find out the level of the reading literacy of pupils with mild intellectual disability at the school for mentally retarded children. A handbook supporting the development of the reading literacy for pupils with mild intellectual disability has been written based on this result. Methods of quantitative research have been used to obtain the final results. One of the research instruments was also a nonofficial test of reading literacy that has for its purpose to determine the level of the reading literacy of mildly mentally disabled pupils. The Diploma Thesis Teacher's Creativity in the Educational process at Primary School for Students with Mild Intellectual Disabilities deals with the development of reading skills and competency of students through the reading workshop technique. The thesis is divided in two parts. The first theoretical part is focused on the definition of the basic terms, such as creativity, creative teaching, creative teacher, educational process, and so on. Furthermore, it focuses on the theoretical concepts of the reading workshop technique. In the practical part, which is taken as a case study, the author examines the practical use of reading workshop technique, through which she tries to improve the reading competency of students. The second part is focused on the reading workshop technique functionality in practice. Particularly, the author deals with the practical application of the reading workshop technique on students at Primary School for Students with Mild Intellectual Disabilities.
Professional orientation of pupils attending special elementary school

This diploma thesis approaches the development of an idea that mentally challenged pupils form about their future employment and introduces aspects that are involved in such process. This is applied to all ages of students with mild mental disability who attend the Primary Special School in Chabařovice. Another goal is to cover the level and the rate of success of pre-vocational training at this school. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with the explanation of the term mental retardation, etiology and classification of mental disability, education of students with mild mental disabilities, their training and application of these young people with such handicap on the labor market. The empirical research focuses on the development of ideas of these children about their future professional career and highlights the aspects that affect the development during their school years.
Roma pupils and the civic education on practical primary schools

The diploma thesis deals the phenomenon of education of Roma children in the system of special elementary education. The aim of the thesis is to capture the specifics of this education focusing on the analysis of the civic education on primary practical schools in context of relationships to Roma pupils. The theoretical part is focused on the current situation of the Roma minority in the Czech republic. The work briefly describes the history of the Roma minority and the current situation of Roma people in the modern society. Most attention is paid to the Czech primary educational system, especially teaching Roma pupils on practical primary schools. The work briefly deals with the current changes in the educational system, so called inclusive education too. The practical part is focused on the methodology of the multicultural education themes, on the second degree of an elementary practical school in Vimperk.
Communication development for hearing impaired pupils at basic

Master thesis titled Communication development for hearing impaired pupils at basic deals with connection between children's hearing impairment, early intervention and the whole communication development at children's family and school enviroment. First chapter is about family, family with impaired child and also about social cultural disadvantaged enviroment. Second chapter clarifies perception language and speech, describes speech development, language's sections, and the possibilities of alternative or augmentative communication. In third chapter deals with hearing, clasiffication of hearing impairment, describes hearing examination, possibilities of communication with hearing impaired people and what compensation aids they can use. Fourth chapter is about basic practical school, preparatory class and describes education of Roma children. Fifth chapter, practical part od thesis, describes all the research investigation. The goal of the investigation is the analysis of children's communation level at basic school and its preparatory class. Who are of primary school children resp. primary practical school

This thesis deals with the deep knowledge of the pupils of primary school who attend special school, a primary school established pursuant to Section 16 (9) of the Education Act. The main aim of the thesis was to describe the broad context of a child attending this type of school. The aim of the theoretical part was to characterize themes - mental disabilities, education of pupils with mentally disabilities, deprivation and socially disadvantaged environment, including issues of Gypsies ethnicity. The practical part has a qualitative charakter and presents case studies of five pupils. The aim was to produce detailed diagnostics and understanding of special school pupils through case studies, interviews with children, teachers, parents and teacher assistants.
Attitudes of elementary school teachers towards inclusive education of students with problematic behaviour

This thesis explores the different types of primary school teachers' attitude towards inclusive education of pupils with behavioural problems. Three main goals were attempted through interviews with teachers of different qualification. The first goal was to understand the differences between teachers' attitudes and opinions. The second was to identify the major reasons for said attitudes. The third goal was to review bill no. 27/2016, which deals with the issues of education of pupils with special needs and of exceptionally talented pupils. The respondents, who participated in this research, are currently employed as primary school teachers, as well as the Waldorf elementary schools and practical elementary schools. The research has shown that all respondents viewed the inclusion of pupils with behavioural problems as disadvantageous. This attitude can however be influenced by the type of school, or additional education in this particular field. This research concludes with a comparison to a U.S. research of similar goals.
